Best Affiliate Programs for Beginners 2026

· Tool Reviews
Prices and terms last verified October 9, 2026.

Search Google for “best affiliate programs” and you’ll find pages that rank 10, 20, even 50 programs by commission rate. Which is a good thing to know.

But not the only thing.

If you are serious about building a profitable affiliate marketing business, you want to know the answers to these four important questions:

  • How much do they pay?
  • How long do they pay?
  • How often do they pay?

And is there a minimum payout you have to clear before you see a dime?

I checked out 9 popular programs and asked the 4 important money questions. Only TWO came back with a ‘big green thumbs up’. Two. And one of them is absolutely 100% free to sign up and get started.

The best affiliate programs for beginners answer four questions in writing: how much, how long, how often, and the minimum payout. I rate 9 popular programs. Only two survived the cut: 1) HBA's Funnel Builder: 80% for active customers, paid weekly, $1 minimum. 2) systeme.io: 60% for life, paid monthly, $30 minimum.

Full disclosure. I’m an HBA affiliate and a systeme.io affiliate, and I earn recurring commissions if you join either one through my links. I’m also a GoHighLevel affiliate, though there’s no GoHighLevel link on this page. Full disclosure

What Four Questions Pick The Best Affiliate Program For A Beginner?

How much do they pay? How long do they pay? How often do they pay? And is there a minimum payout you have to clear before you get paid?

Ask all four, every time. A big commission means nothing if it stops at month 12, lands in your bank account once every two months, or just sits in an account until you reach $100.

Here’s why each one matters to someone starting from zero.

1. How much do they pay? Not just the percentage. The dollars. Because a 30% commission on a $10 product is a pretty tiny check, and to make it even worse… some programs take tax off before they figure out your cut.

2. How long do they pay? Some programs stop paying you a commission on customers you referred after a year. Which makes it nearly impossible to build a solid, recurring income.

3. How often do they pay? The best rated affiliate programs for a beginner pay you daily, weekly or at least monthly. Faster is better. Because it costs you real money to operate a business online and if it takes 60 days to get paid after you make your first sale… jeez, you could be in for a tough ride.

4. Is there a minimum payout? A $100 floor means your first few sales earn you nothing you can spend. A $1 floor means your first sale pays.

I’ve been doing this since 1996 and one thing I’ve noticed is the programs I have success with answered all four of the critical money questions on their website, in writing. Every single one. Which is important. Because if the company doesn’t stand behind you, who will?

Nine Programs, Four Questions: The Scorecard

Program How much? How long? How often? Minimum payout?
HBA Funnel Builder 80%, $20 a month per customer As long as the customer stays active Weekly, every Thursday $1
systeme.io 60% after VAT, $10.20 a month on the $17 plan For the life of the subscription Monthly, on the 10th $30
GetResponse 40% (more at 50+ sales a year) 12 months Monthly, around the 13th Not stated
Kit 50% 12 months, then 10% only at 10+ referrals a year Monthly, around the 13th, after a 31-day wait $5
AWeber 30% (more at 100+ referrals a year) For the lifetime of paid accounts Not published Not published
ClickFunnels 30% While the membership continues 1st and 15th, after a 45-day cooling-off $100
GoHighLevel 40% “Recurring”, length not stated “Monthly”, no date Not published
JVZoo and WarriorPlus Set by each vendor Mostly one-time products Set by each vendor Varies
Amazon Associates 1% to 3% on most categories One sale, 24-hour cookie Net-60 $10 ($100 by check)

Only two programs survive the test: HBA's Funnel Builder and systeme.io.

Seven of nine don’t.

Question 1: How Much Do They Pay?

  1. HBA’s Funnel Builder pays 80% for as long as the customer remains active. On the $25 Funnel Builder that’s $20 a month per active customer, for Premium it’s $100.

  2. systeme.io pays 60%, figured after any European VAT comes off. On the $17 Startup plan you earn $10.20 a month when there’s no VAT and $8.43 when there is.

The email tools sit at 30% to 50%. Kit pays 50%, GetResponse 40%, AWeber 30%. ClickFunnels pays 30% and GoHighLevel pays 40%.

Now in dollars per sale, GoHighLevel can beat both HBA and systeme.io because 40% of its $97 Starter plan is $38.80 a month. But it can be a lot tougher for a beginner to sell a $97-a-month tool than a $25 tool or a free one. Make sense?

Amazon pays the least. 1% to 3% of total sales. 3% of a $500 barbecue is $15. Big sale, tiny commission. So Amazon isn’t going to work.

Question 2: How Long Do They Pay?

HBA pays for as long as the customer stays active. No 12-month cutoff. No minimum sales required and the only condition is you have to keep your own HBA subscription active in order to get paid.

systeme.io pays for life. Its affiliate page promises “Lifetime recurring, earn every month the referral stays subscribed,” and it tags the referral to you permanently.

GetResponse and Kit stop at 12 months. GetResponse pays 40% commission for 12 months. Kit pays 50% for the first year, then keeps paying only if you have 10 or more paying referrals a year, and if you do qualify - the commission still drops down to only 10%.

AWeber and ClickFunnels do pay for as long as the customer stays and GoHighLevel calls its 40% “recurring” without saying for how long.

Amazon pays once. The cookie lasts 24 hours and nothing recurs.

Earning lifetime commissions is how a monthly check grows.

Ten customers this month and ten next month is twenty paying customers. See how it adds up?

Question 3: How Often Do They Pay?

HBA pays every week, every Thursday after clearing a five-day hold first. It’s the only program of the nine we rated that pays every week.

Here’s what that looks like in my own HBA back office.

Rob Fore's HBA payouts screen showing five paid weekly payouts, each on a Thursday: 8 October, 1 October, 24 September, 17 September and 10 September 2026
My HBA payouts screen: five paid weekly payouts, every one on a Thursday. These are my results, not typical ones. HBA's own disclosure puts the median at $0 across all active affiliates. Earnings disclaimer

HBA pays on time, every time.

systeme.io pays monthly, on the 10th. A sale made on the 11th waits for the next 10th.

That’s a full month.

ClickFunnels pays twice a month, on the 1st and the 15th, but only 45 days after the customer’s payment clears. GetResponse and Kit pay monthly. Kit adds a 31-day wait after the sale, then it rides the next month’s invoice. A sale in early January lands in your wallet around 13 March.

Amazon pays Net-60. March’s earnings arrive around the start of June. AWeber publishes no payout schedule on its program page. GoHighLevel says “monthly payouts” and gives no date.

Weekly cash flow is the difference between a beginner who sees proof in week two and one who quits in month two.

Question 4: Is There A Minimum Payout To Overcome?

A minimum payout is money you’ve earned that the company holds until you’ve earned more. For a beginner it decides when the first check arrives.

HBA’s minimum is $1. One Let’s Goal customer earns $8, so your first sale clears HBA’s minimum on its own.

Kit’s minimum is $5. One paying customer clears it.

systeme.io’s minimum is $30. At $10.20 a customer you need three Startup customers to reach it.

Amazon’s minimum is $10 by direct deposit or gift card, and $100 by check. At 3%, that’s about $334 in sales to clear $10. At 1%, it’s $1,000.

ClickFunnels’ minimum is $100. At 30%, the customers you refer have to bill about $334 between them before you see a cent, and then the 45-day cooling-off still applies.

GetResponse, AWeber and GoHighLevel don’t publish a minimum on their program pages. That’s an unknown you only find out after you’ve signed up and made sales.

Ask before you sign up.

The lower the minimum, the sooner your first sale becomes money you can spend.

Why Is HBA’s Funnel Builder Number One?

Because it gives the best answer to all four questions.

The Funnel Builder is $25 a month and pays 80%, which is $20 a month per active customer. Two referrals covers your own subscription and puts you $15 ahead.

Two active customers equals 2 x $20 = $40, minus the $25 you’re paying = $15 profit.

The catch: you must own a product to earn commissions on it, so earning on Funnel Builder sales means paying for Funnel Builder.

Why Is systeme.io The Runner-Up?

It answers all four questions well, and it’s the only program here you can join without spending a dime.

There’s no purchase required, the program pays 60% commissions for life, and it costs you nothing to start. You get monthly payouts and a $30 floor. The full program is in my systeme.io review.

Who This Is For, And Who It Isn’t

This is for you if your goal is to create a monthly check that keeps growing, and you’re willing to take consistent action over an extended period of time to build a small email list to make it happen.

It isn’t for someone chasing launch-day, short-lived spikes in income.

If you love the energy of a big launch and instant payouts, JVZoo and WarriorPlus will suit you better.

You can do this.

Not because it’s easy, but because it’s a skill, and anyone willing to put in the time and effort can learn it.

Which Program Should A Beginner Pick?

HBA’s Funnel Builder, at $25 a month. It gives the best answer to all four questions: 80%, for as long as the customer stays, every Thursday, with a $1 minimum. Two active referrals covers your own cost. Plus… it comes with a TurnKey funnel already installed. Sign up, get your link and you are golden.

Easy as 1-2-3.

It’s the wrong pick if you can’t spare $25 a month right now, or if you won’t use the funnel builder yourself, since you have to own what you sell.

The runner-up is systeme.io, free to join, 60% for life. It’s the right first choice if your budget is zero or you want to prove you can make a sale before paying for anything. You trade speed for zero risk: monthly payouts with a $30 floor.

Best value isn’t the cheapest.

With HBA, the $25 buys you a higher rate, weekly cash flow and a $1 minimum. With systeme.io, you give up speed and keep your money.

Whichever you pick, the program is the easy part.

The work is the hard part.

For the eight things I found the top producers in this business all did, in order, grab the free Proven Path report.

A note on earnings. HBA’s own earnings disclosure for 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026 reports 1,572 active affiliates, an average of $530 for the year before subscription costs, and a median of $0. Only 26.5% made at least one sale. HBA says it directly: “typical affiliates earn no income.” Earnings disclaimer
